About Us

Dakota Carriage Company is a family owned horse business with 47 years
of experience. It was started as an income stream to justify the Clydesdales
after their days of working the fields had past. Today it is the love of the
horses that keeps this business great. Garfield & Mary Hoglund and Derik &
Sari Kraft (and family) enjoy sharing this love of horses with kids and adults
of all ages.

4 Generations of Gentle Giants...Hoglunds/Krafts

The Hoglund Family has been raising Clydesdales for over 45
years. Jim and Loraine Hoglund began raising registered Clydesdales after
they bought their first tractor. Jim had farmed for many years with these
gentle giants and could not bear to see them go. In 1950 he began
giving hayrides and sleighrides to the public so the horses could
continue to earn their keep. This tradition pasted on to Jim's oldest
son, Garfield, and his wife, Mary. They ran the family owned business
with their three children for 25 years and are still involved in it today.
Garfield and Mary's oldest daughter, Sari, and her husband, Derik (Kraft),
are now involved in the long running horse drawn business. Their three
children, Tanner, Madison and Wyatt, make the fourth generation of
Clydesdale breeders and horse drawn business workers.

We currently have one beautiful dark bay stallion Armageddon's Lord Seth.
We will have several 2009 foals for sale, they will be arriving in April.
